Interactions available to the user

For project management charts an integrated scheduling module is available. Data can be loaded and stored to CSV files or via the application programming interface (API). Single data can be inserted, modified or deleted by user interaction.

VARCHART XNet offers to the user a variety of options to graphically display data for different applications:

The appearance of nodes (color, format, background, graphics file (*.bmp), etc.) can be specified by a variety of options.
The node appearance is assigned to the nodes in dependence on the data. (The data-controlled assignment is defined via maps or filters in form of Boolean expressions.)
Several data fields can be displayed in a node in any order, size, font etc.
The appearance of links can vary.
The four different link types (FF, FS, SF, and SS) are shown graphically. The links can be annotated.
Positions of nodes and links can be kept in data fields to be stored and restored.
Auxiliary nodes can be positioned, that is, nodes can be placed in the same rank as their predecessors.
Project activities can be scheduled via an integrated scheduling module (including the calculation of floats, critical path etc.)

Optimal Usage in Web applications

XNet's ability to export graphics into different formats (BMP, WMF, PCX, EPS, GIF, PNG, JPEG or VMF) allows you and your users to create data views that can be easily embedded into web pages. Our VMF export is a compact vector format that can be displayed in a browser and printed locally with the GRANEDA WebViewer, a Java applet. Graphics data in VMF format and the GRANEDA WebViewer can be easily downloaded via internet to any client. This allows the easy publishing of VARCHART XNet graphics on the internet. A server license of VARCHART XNet also allows the serverside graphics export and transferring of these graphics in a HTML page to any client on the internet. Let your customers use the browser environment to work with VARCHART XNet. You can deploy a VBScript Application with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
