A Report Writer that Fits Your
Needs
Everyone's reporting needs are different. So Foxfire! was
designed from the ground up to be easily and precisely
customized to any application:
Intelligent Data Dictionary
Behind the scenes, Foxfire!’s data dictionary holds all the
technical details necessary to perform table joining, data
massaging, and layout formatting automatically. Users choose
fields from a pop-up list of descriptive names. Just set it up
once and let Foxfire! handle:
- Table and field names and locations
- Expressions, indexes, and sub-queries
- Valid comparison values in queries
- Joins -- even multiple joins between two tables
|
- Input edits, formatting
- Data manipulation
- Storing on hidden fields
- And much more

Custom Views
Foxfire! lets you control access to tables, fields,
relationships, and reports. If your application has a lot of
tables of fields, presenting them in one list can overwhelm a
user. Foxfire! lets you subdivide the database (and associated
joins and report libraries) into smaller, content-oriented
views so users can stay focused on the specific reporting task.
Views can be switched while Foxfire! executes so the user can
report from many different views during one session.
Custom Features (privileges)
Foxfire! maintains a profile for each user or user group so
data, features, and options can be hidden or exposed on a
user-by-user basis.
Custom procedure hooks
(not
available in single-user stand-alone edition)
Add custom logic to Foxfire! by inserting your own FoxPro
code in special pre- and post-processing hooks in a
separate module. This architecture means you can customize
nearly every aspect of Foxfire!'s operation without changing a
single line of its source code (for example, you could insert a
custom coded data acquisition routine to be performed every time
Foxfire! is executed). And when you upgrade to a future version
of Foxfire!, you won't have to reapply those custom features.

Enterprise Developer's Edition comes with source code, FoxPro project components, and a single user license for the Report Designer (this license cannot be distributed to end users however). With it, you can create a customized report writer that you can distribute with your application.
Foxfire! Enterprise Edition Report Designer licenses are required so that users may create reports. You don't need to have a license to run the reports or customize the FRX-generated layout.
These licenses are limited to the same network and may not be distributed.
