PEERNET.DRV ePro is a print driver that converts documents
into raster images. The most advanced print driver available on
the market, this product converts Microsoft Windows
documents into 36 industry-standard serialized or multi-page
image types. With more than 24 image-compression methods
available and many sophisticated features, this product is
particularly useful to computer-aided document design (CADD)
and graphic design professionals.
PEERNET.DRV ePro offers unique image processing that
automates most simple image enhancement activities: automatic
cropping, automatic trimming, automatic copying, and antialiasing
of images. You can also choose from more than 24 compression
methods and from numerous compression quality settings. Append
mode enables you to build a multi-page file gradually by
appending pages to an existing file whenever the need arises.
And you can rotate landscape pages to portrait orientation
automatically, even within the same document.
With print-to-email capability, printing automatically launches
email (including Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, or Lotus
Notes), then attaches and sends all output files. The numerous
output options include local folder, network folder, ftp folder, and
Web folder (WebDAV). And we guarantee that recipients receive
virus-free image files. Even if the original documents or computer
have a virus, the images created will not.
Its powerful image manipulation and processing features make
PEERNET.DRV ePro the ideal print driver to meet your CADD
and graphic design needs.
PEERNET.DRV ePro offers the following features:
Image Processing
PEERNET.DRV ePro offers unique image processing that
automates most simple image enhancement activities. Its
features include:
- Automatic cropping: Removes repetitive, unwanted debris
from batch-processed documents.
- Automatic trimming: Removes blank space on all sides of
the document.
- Automatic copying: Places the image on a different-sized
blank background according to X/Y coordinates and
horizontal/vertical alignment settings that you define.
- Antialiasing of the image.
Print to Email
This product supports virtually all email clients, making it ideal for
enterprises of any size.
When configuring the product, you can default the TO, CC, and
BCC fields, specify files that will be attached to all messages, set
the default subject, and set the default message content.
Use numerous email programs to automatically attach and send
all output files. The product includes support for the following
mail protocols: Simple MAPI, Extended MAPI, and VIM. The table
below lists some of the common email clients that have been
tested with the PEERNET.DRV drivers. (This list is not an
exhaustive list of all mail clients supported.)

Built-in support lets you communicate directly with any
SMTP-enabled mail server. This feature provides the ability to
send mail even if you do not have a mail client program on your
computer. Just enable the SMTP email option of the image driver.
Virus-free Email Distribution
Launch any email client to automatically attach and send
virus-free output files. Even if the original documents or computer
have a virus, the images you create will not.
Full Control over Output Filenames
You can configure four naming profiles to determine how all
output files are named. You have access to a number of variables
that hold runtime information for building dynamic filenames. You
can keep the default extension for image files or use your own
extension.
Run External Programs or Files
The enhanced run command operations support using the
extension of the file to invoke the default application associated
with that file extension. When enabled, the default command
associated with the run-at-end-of-file event will invoke the
default image viewer.
Shared Printer
Pre-load standard printer setups using the printer setting, to
allow drivers to be distributed as a shared printer across the
enterprise without using a special installation script. Users quickly
and easily install the driver on local machines from the server
using the standard Add Printer wizard.
Programmers API
Develop full integration of the driver with your application by
using the programmers API that is distributed as a Windows DLL
and provided with each driver.
Special Commands
Control printing dynamically at runtime by embedding special
commands called control strings in your documents. (Think of
these control strings as the macro language for the print driver.)
Place PEERNET.DRV control strings at strategic points throughout
your documents to control any aspect of the printing process.
Workflow Automation
Enter a run command and PEERNET.DRV ePro launches an
external application, such as a file viewer or photo editor,
immediately after output. Commands can be set to run at the
start of a print job, at the end of a print job, at file close, or
after each page -- or all four.
Compression
Choose the most suitable compression method and compression
quality settings for each image type. PEERNET.DRV ePro
supports more than 24 image-compression methods.
Append Mode
Build a multi-page file gradually by appending pages to an existing
file whenever the need arises.
Automatic Page Rotation
Rotate landscape pages to portrait orientations automatically,
even within the same document.
Environment Settings
Enjoy easy access to the entire contents of the Windows
registry. Use registry data in the special commands and as
parameters to your applications.
Global Numbering
Eliminates the need to choose a unique filename for each file
created by the driver.
Variables
Use variables to retrieve runtime state information about a print
job, to store personal data, and to set printing preferences
dynamically.
Easy Installation
Just run the setup file and your installation is complete because
PEERNET.DRV ePro comes as a self-installing executable file.
Output Filenames
Set PEERNET.DRV ePro to prompt for output filenames using a
standard Save As dialog box, or pre-set the output filenames in
the driver settings.
Universal Language Support
Enjoy hassle-free multilingualism. The PEERNET.DRV drivers are
the only raster print drivers that offer this benefit. The majority
of the print properties and the context-sensitive online help
automatically adapt to the host systems language. No translation
required.
